Well, I hopped in a Chevy Blazer and zoomed the six-odd hour drive from Columbus Ohio to Niagara Falls New York.  Not a bad little road trip, if a little boring on the scenery side.  Once I got to Niagara Falls I had a look from the river side, the NY state observation tower, and then hopped on the "Maid of the Mist" boat tour (highly recommended).  I also walked over to Canada for lunch, and got a real grilling coming back in to the US (not surprising I suppose).

Niagara Falls is amazing, but the place is a bit like Las Vegas in that you go there for one reason (i.e. see the falls) and they have all this other crap (there is no other way to describe it) to try and get you to stay a bit longer and spend a bit more money.  Definitely a day trip only, maybe while going between Toronto and New York :-)

American Falls from the NY State Observation Tower.  I got to Niagara Falls the day before they closed the tower for renovation.

An unusual house I found in the area (while lost looking for the hotel) - someone still thinks it's Halloween

On the way home - Lake Erie, Erie PA (Pennsylvania)

This bizarre fish graces the docks in Erie.  It reminds me of the bad guys in "Stingray"... anyone remember that old TV series?
