These are all photos from my recent trip to Nepal.  While I was in Nepal I did the Jomsom trek, so the lion's share of these photos are from the trek as I didn't really see much else of Nepal (still over 100 photos anyway!).  I've split these into general photos, as well as photos relating to each day of my 7 day trek (where I can remember where stuff is).

GENERAL PHOTOS

The following few photos are from the mountain flight I took with Buddha Air.  This flies along the southern edge of the Himalaya, and gives you a good view of all of the 8000M mountains, including Everest.  Unfortunately most of my photos didn't turn out, so here are the best of them.

Hidden behind the wingtip is Everest

I think that is Everest as well :-P

This photo was taken in Pokhara near my hotel before I left for my trek..... I've never seen a cow eat cardboard before... so out came the camera :-)

DAY 1 - Jomsom to Kagbeni

On the first day of my trek I flew into Jomsom and walked up to Kagbeni.  Both of these towns are at about 2800M above sea level.  The normal Jomsom trek has you walk in from the road and fly out, however as I had limited time I chose to fly in and walk out and just risk the chance of getting altitude sickness (more later).

Entering Eklai Bhatti, which is a little place just before Kagbeni - that's my guide Raju

Crossing a suspension bridge over the river before Kagbeni.  Bridges similar to these are all over the trails we trekked.

From the bridge I could see a donkey train working it's way through the river.  Often you see these donkey trains actually going across the suspension bridges!!

Looking up into the Upper Mustang - Kagbeni is as far north as you can go without a special permit and a liason officer.  A week or so walk in this direction is Tibet.

The Gompa (Buddhist temple) in Kagbeni

Prayer wheels at the temple

Kagbeni from the approach up the Kali Gandaki valley ("Black River")

Looking back down the valley from Kagbeni.  Wreathed in cloud is Mt Nilgiri.

Views from the Kali Gandaki river valley - as you can see the entire area is a mountain desert, so for the first 3 days of trekking everything was very dry and brown.
